QSAC pursues this mission through direct services that provide a supportive and individualized setting for children and adults with autism to improve their communication, socialization, academic, and functional skillsJob SummaryQSAC is seeking dedicated and energetic Certified Teacher's Assistants, who provide direct instructional services to students under the general supervision of a New York State certified teacher. The role focuses on one-on-one or small group instruction as outlined by the supervising teacher. Teaching Assistants support students’ recreation, motor, vocational, socialization and communication, leisure and motor skills through the use of behavior analytic teaching procedures. Additional job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Guiding and assisting students in various instruction settings and class routinesCollecting data documenting student performanceUnder teacher direction, implementing student's Individual Education Plans (IEP)s and Behavior Intervention plans (when applicable)Work Experience and Qualification High School Diploma or GED, required3 letters of recommendation required upon hire for preschool candidates1-2 years’ work experience is a school setting is preferredAbility to safely assist lifting individuals of various weights & 20 lb. itemsMust be able to communicate effectively with others and individuals servedBenefitsQSAC has terrific benefits that go beyond health and retirement.
