We have clients come from as far away as South Dakota for our Holistic medicine services! Many clients have been to several clinics and referral centers with no benefit, but find great improvement in their pets after coming here for our Holistic care. We value using nutrition to treat many ailments and the results speak for themselves! We practice both western and eastern medicine and utilize Fear Free techniques with our patients. Role Description The Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) is a full-time, 4 day a week, on-site role based at The Bluffs Pet Clinic in Red Wing, MN. This role includes providing high-quality nursing care to hospitalized and outpatient pets, assisting veterinarians during examinations and procedures, and performing technical tasks such as sample collection, diagnostic testing, and radiography. The CVT will monitor anesthesia, assist in surgical procedures, and support pain management and recovery care. Daily responsibilities also include client education on treatment plans, preventive care, and home care instructions, as well as maintaining medical records, preparing treatment areas, and ensuring a clean, safe environment for patients and team members. The technician will collaborate with the veterinary and client service teams to deliver efficient, compassionate care and an excellent client experience.


Qualifications

  • Demonstrated skills in Animal Care and Pet Care, including handling, restraint, monitoring, and basic nursing care.
  • Proficiency in Veterinary Technology, such as sample collection, laboratory procedures, radiology, and medical record documentation.
  • Experience or training in Anesthesiology, including patient preparation, anesthetic monitoring, and post-anesthesia care under veterinary supervision.
  • Ability to provide clear, empathetic Client Education regarding preventive care, treatment plans, medications, and post-visit instructions.
  • Active or eligible Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) credential in Minnesota, or ability to obtain certification within an agreed timeframe.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and time-management skills in a fast-paced clinical setting.
  • Comfort with basic computer skills and veterinary practice software; willingness to learn new systems and protocols.
  • Previous experience in a small animal clinic or hospital is preferred, but recent graduates with relevant clinical training are encouraged to apply.
