Cleveland State UniversityAssistant College Lecturer ChemistryJob Summary:The Department of Chemistry within the College of Arts and Sciences at Cleveland State University invites applications for a non-tenure track, full-time faculty position at the level of Assistant College Lecturer in Chemistry, beginning August 17, 2026.The faculty member hired is expected to teach chemistry courses, teach majors and non-majors courses that will best strengthen our Chemistry program, and participate in service.The Department of Chemistry offers B.S. degrees in Chemistry and Pharmaceutical Sciences, a M.S. degree in Chemistry, and a Ph.D. degree in Clinical-Bioanalytical Chemistry, which is jointly administered with the Cleveland Clinic. The Ph.D. program in Clinical Chemistry is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation in Clinical Chemistry.CSU aspires to be a national leader in social and economic mobility. CSU is striving to be a nationally recognized and student focused public research institution that provides accessible, affordable, and Engaged Learning opportunities for all.Minimum Qualifications:Masters or Ph.D. degree in Chemistry or a closely related field;Ability to teach areas of chemistry including General Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, and Physical Chemistry;Demonstrated teaching experience in chemistry at the college, university, or community college level;Good communication skills.Preferred Qualifications:D. in Chemistry or a closely related field;ACS-accredited BS chemistry degree or completion of equivalent courses;Documented experience in teaching chemistry lecture courses;Evidence of teaching excellence;Excellent interpersonal skills;Evidence of ability to communicate effectively with individuals of varying backgrounds;Ability to manage laboratory courses.Applicant Instructions:Applications will only be accepted online at https://hrjobs.csuohio.edu/postings/25591.
