Its in our hands.Job Summary:The Chief Development Officer (CDO) serves as a key member of the Executive Management Team (EMT) and is responsible for advancing the organizations mission through comprehensive strategies that strengthen revenue generation donor relations and public engagement. This leader will oversee management of the development team and all aspects of fundraising donor engagement donor pipeline growth and revenue diversificationensuring financial stability and mission impact across programs and initiatives.Reporting directly to the President the ideal candidate will have experience working closely with organizational leaders in executing growth strategies and bring clarity and vision to the CDO role partnering closely with the President of Brady to execute on Bradys strategic plan for continued revenue growth across its C3/C4 and Brady PAC. The candidate should have a track record of working collaboratively across an organization and with their own team to uncover potential revenue opportunities and connect donors with the aspects of Bradys work that are most meaningful to them with a focus on building long-term meaningful relationships with Bradys donor base. The candidate will have a passion for creating a culture of care and cultivation for Brady donors many of whom have been Brady supporters for decades.The candidate should be creative and bold willing to think expansively about how to grow Bradys revenue and who Brady should work with to support that growth. The candidate should have substantial experience cultivating strategic partnerships with High Net Worth individuals Corporations and large Foundations. The candidate should have experience successfully managing a team of high performers. Duties and Responsibilities:Mission & Strategy AlignmentDeeply understand and embody the organizations mission values and the communities it serves.Translate the mission into compelling fundraising and engagement strategies that drive growth and sustainability.Partner with the President and Board to develop long-term strategies for revenue visibility and impact.Deep experience working with501(c)(3) 501(c)(4) and PACentities navigating compliance and strategic alignment.Revenue Growth & FundraisingLead all aspects of development strategyincluding individual giving major gifts institutional partnerships corporate giving planned giving and digital fundraising.Identify new sources of revenue leveraging innovation and data-driven insights.Partner with the Board and senior leaders to align fundraising goals with programmatic and financial objectives.Partner with the COO and Finance to ensure seamless tracking and forecasting of revenue performance ensuring transparency and accountability.Stakeholder & Donor EngagementCultivate relationships with key external partners including donors funders corporations and peer organizations.Serve as a visible and credible ambassador for the organizations mission and impact.Develop strategic communications that connect supporters and partners to the mission in meaningful ways.Organizational Leadership & CultureBuild trust and collaboration within the senior leadership team.Champion a culture of accountability high performance and alignment with organizational values (Accountability Passion Impact Driven and Excellence APIE).Foster diversity equity and inclusion in all aspects of engagement and fundraising.Innovation & Market AwarenessIdentify and respond to external drivers of changeeconomic shifts donor behavior trends technology and policy developments.Guide the organization in adapting to the evolving philanthropic landscape including digital giving AI-informed engagement and multi-generational donor strategies.Collaborate with internal departments to ensure integration between programmatic work and revenue development.Operational ManagementOversee Development (and/or all revenue-generating units).Manage budgets forecasting and key performance indicators for fundraising and engagement.Ensure compliance with legal ethical and financial standards across all revenue operations.Key RelationshipsReports to: The PresidentWorks closely with: the Office of the President including the Chief Operating Officer and Chief of Staff; Board of Directors; Finance; Chief Policy/Program Officer; and CommunicationsSupervises: DevelopmentKey Stakeholders: Donors Corporate and Foundation Partners Strategic Allies and Mission BeneficiariesQualifications and Skills:10 years of progressive experiencein nonprofit development fundraising and revenue strategy.Proven track recordof generating significant philanthropic and partnership revenue across multiple channels.Demonstrated successleading teams through growth change and innovationto achieve ambitious goals.Strong understanding ofdata-driven fundraising analytics and engagement toolsto optimize donor relationships and outcomes.Exceptional communication relationship management and storytelling skills fostering meaningful connections with diverse stakeholders.Genuinecommitment to organizational mission values and DEI principles integrating equity and inclusion into all aspects of leadership and fundraising.Ideal Candidate Profile:Astrategic thinkerwho connects mission with opportunity.A creative and entrepreneurial approach to the role driven by a fundamental growth mindsetA key collaborator with the President of Brady who works closely with the President in fulfilling a continuing growth strategyArelationship builderwho inspires trust across diverse audiences.Adata-informed leaderwho uses insight to drive growth.Acollaborative partnerwho thrives in cross-functional leadership.The salary range for this position is $200000 to $250000 annually with the exact salary depending on experience.
