Chief Medical Officer at MavenHealth Solutions
JOB DESCRIPTION
For more than 55 years, this FQHC has served the Northern Sonoma Valley community with a mission-centered approach to delivering high-quality, compassionate care to underserved populations.
With 9 sites (8 clinical) offering medical, dental, behavioral health, vision, and care coordination services, this trusted community health organization is committed to improving health outcomes across the region.
We’re seeking a Chief Medical Officer (CMO) to provide strategic clinical leadership and help guide the organization into its next phase of growth and quality advancement.
This is a high-impact leadership role for a mission-driven physician who is passionate about community health and excited to shape the future of care delivery for vulnerable populations.
The CMO will partner closely with the executive leadership team to strengthen clinical operations, enhance quality outcomes, and support the continued evolution of the care model.
Key Responsibilities
The CMO will provide strategic and operational clinical leadership across the organization, including:
- Leading and mentoring the clinical leadership team, including 2 Medical Directors, a Quality Director, and a Nurse Manager
- Driving initiatives tied to the organization’s 3-year strategic plan, particularly in clinical quality, safety, and patient engagement
- Partnering with the quality team to interpret and act on clinical metrics, analytics, and performance data
- Supporting care model development, including programs such as Chronic Care Management and Medicare Annual Wellness Visits
- Representation at the state and national level, including engagement with the National Association of Community Health Centers
- Participating in grant initiatives and advocacy efforts that strengthen community health services
- Serving as a visible clinical leader for providers and staff across the organization
- Engaging with the community through outreach and speaking opportunities
Clinical & Leadership Structure
- 2 days per week of clinical care (flexibility possible)
- Remaining time dedicated to administrative and leadership responsibilities, with some remote administrative time available
- Epic EMR
- Regular on-site presence expected to support teams and engage with the community
Preferred background includes:
- Experience in a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) or community health center environment
- Prior physician leadership experience (Medical Director, Associate CMO, or CMO)
- Strong ability to translate clinical data into operational improvements
- Experience leading quality and population health initiatives
- Passion for working with underserved and diverse patient populations
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
Board certification in Family Medicine or Pediatrics is strongly preferred.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: Up to $360,000, with flexibility for highly experienced candidates
- Sign-on Bonus: Up to $100,000 through regional incentive programs
- Malpractice insurance fully covered
- DEA and license fees covered
- CME: $2,000 annually + 1 week CME leave
- PTO: 4 weeks
- Sick Leave: 5 days
- Benefits eligibility beginning at 30 hours/week
