Extended Job TitleChief Medical TechnologistPosition DescriptionActs as lead medical technologist in a medical laboratory. Performs chemical, microscopic, serologic, hematologic, immunohematologic, parasitic or bacteriologic tests. Coordinate daily activities of the lab, maintain inventory and equipment, and perform administrative duties associated with lab. May manage subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adheres to approved budgets.Requisition ID43086BROptional AttachmentsProfessional/Personal Reference Travel RequiredUp to 25% Pay Grade Maximum12138.27Major/Essential FunctionsPerform and validate a wide range of laboratory tests, including chemical, microscopic, serologic, hematologic, immunohematologic, parasitologic, and bacteriologic analyses.Ensure accuracy and reliability of test results through strict quality control, troubleshooting, and adherence to regulatory standards.Coordinate daily laboratory workflow, prioritize testing activities, and serve as the primary point of contact for operational issues.Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment; manage inventory and ensure availability of supplies.Complete and maintain required administrative documentation, logs, and compliance records; assist with audits and updates of SOPs.Supervise, train, and support laboratory staff in day-to-day operations, ensuring consistent performance and adherence to procedures.Participate in scheduling, performance evaluations, and personnel management as delegated.Monitor resource use, support budget adherence, and contribute to operational efficiency and continuous improvement.Communicate effectively with clinicians and other departments to support timely and accurate patient care.Grant Funded?No Pay Grade Minimum4413.92Pay BasisMonthlySchedule DetailsMonday - Friday, 8:00 to 5:00Work LocationAmarilloPreferred QualificationsFamiliarity with TTUHSC guidelines, policies, and laboratory procedures.Experience using Altera Touchworks and Orchard Laboratory Information Systems (LIS).DepartmentOb Gyn Ama Genl Required AttachmentsProfessional License or Certification, Resume / CVJob TypeFull Time Pay StatementCompensation is commensurate upon the qualifications of the individual selected and budgetary guidelines of the hiring department, as well as the institutional pay plan.
