This aligns with the Veterans Health Administration (VHA) Mission Statement to honor America's Veterans by providing exceptional healthcare that improves their health and well-being.Chief of Psychiatry Key Responsibilities (Supervisory position):Typical shift M-F, 8:00am-4:30pm; Night, Weekend, Holiday call by rotationSome travel required to our Community Based Outpatient ClinicsEvaluate and manage patients admitted to mental health inpatient service, and outpatient clinics including performing history and physical examinations.Provide coverage to evaluate and manage mental health veterans in the local area Emergency Department, and consultation liaison service as needed.Write prescriptions including controlled medications, order appropriate laboratory and diagnosticProvides patient education of medical/mental health conditions, preventive measures and prescribed treatments.Relocation/recruitment incentives may be approved for highly qualified candidatesWhat We Offer:Competitive Salary: $275,000 - $350,000Generous Paid Time Off: 50-55 days per year, including 26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays.Retirement Benefits: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and a federal 401K with up to 5% contributions by VA.Comprehensive Insurance: Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care, with many programs carrying into retirement.Flexibility: No physician employment contract and no significant restriction onProfessional Development: Up to 5 days’ paid leave and reimbursement of $1,000 perMalpractice: Liability protection with tail coverage providedPreferred Experience:Board Certified in Psychiatry5+ years’ supervisory experience requiredMust be a S.
