Position Title:Chief of StaffAppointment Type:ContractJob Description:The Iowa State University Athletics Department is seeking a Chief of Staff to serve as a senior advisor and operational leader within our NCAA Division 1 football program supporting the Head Coach in managing the programs strategic priorities daily operations and stakeholder relationships. This role ensures alignment across staff players administration and external partners enabling the Head Coach to focus on competitive success and program vision.Examples of what youll doAct as a trusted advisor to the Head Coach providing counsel on program direction priorities and decision-makingRepresent the Head Coach in meetings with Athletics operational units university officials donors alumni and media when appropriateOversee daily operations of the football program including scheduling logistics and resource allocationSupervise administrative staff and graduate assistants delegating tasks to maintain smooth program executionManage internal communication across coaching staff support staff and student-athletes to ensure clarity and efficiencyWork closely with HR on staffing needs searches salaries and staff contractsCoordinate onboarding and professional development of football staff membersMaintain accurate documentation and reporting for audits and reviewsAdhere to University Conference and NCAA policies procedures and regulationsEstablish and maintain effective interactions with the students colleagues university community alumni media and the publicThis position requires a high level of football operational knowledge excellent work ethic along with exceptional planning and communication skills. Candidates are expected to be committed to multiculturalism and working with a diverse student body. Requires the ability to travel including overnight stays for competitions.Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an on-going basis without sponsorship. Immigration sponsorship is not available for this position.Required Minimum Qualifications:Bachelors degree.Experience in athletic administration coaching football or football operations at a highly competitive level (post high school).Preferred Qualifications:Experience serving as an advisor to the head coach for a highly competitive collegiate or professional football program.Experience managing complex budgets and staff operations.Strong understanding of NCAA Division I compliance and operations.About ISU Athletics:As an NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision athletics program and a founding member of the Big 12 Conference Iowa State University sponsors 18 intercollegiate athletics teams and supports 450 student-athletes in their pursuit of academic and athletic excellence.
