In this leadership role, you will manage menu preparation, ensure meal quality and safety, coordinate kitchen workflows, and support staff while fostering a positive, child-centered dining environment. You will also deliver meals to other campuses using a company vehicle a clean driving record is required.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the preparation and serving of balanced, nutritious meals and snacks in accordance with menus, portion guidelines, and dietary requirements.Oversee CACFP compliance, including accurate documentation for program reimbursements.Ensure all food safety, sanitation, and storage standards are consistently met and enforced.Create or adapt menus to meet dietary restrictions, allergies, and nutritional needs of children.Monitor, manage, and order food inventory to maintain appropriate stock levels and stay within budget.Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen, including equipment, surfaces, and storage areas.Supervise Assistant Cook(s) and support their training and development.Deliver meals to additional campuses as needed.Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities.Model and promote a kind, respectful, and child-friendly atmosphere in alignment with Montessori principles.QualificationsPrior experience as a Head Cook, Lead Cook, or Kitchen Manager (preferred).Strong knowledge of nutrition, food safety, and sanitation regulations.Ability to adapt recipes and menus for allergies and dietary needs.Excellent culinary, organizational, and time-management skills.Leadership ability and strong communication skills.Physical ability to lift, carry, and stand for extended periods.Current Food Handlers Certificate (or willingness to obtain).High School Diploma or GED required.A genuine passion for promoting healthy eating habits among children.Benefits and PerksCompetitive compensationHealth insurancePaid training hoursPaid time off (PTO) and paid holidaysNo weekend shiftsMeals provided during shiftsSupportive, fun work environmentAbout Tomorrows PromiseTomorrows Promise is dedicated to creating a nurturing Montessori environment where children learn, explore, and grow.
