For additional information, click here.QualificationsEDUCATION Child Development Associate (CDA) credential. Required Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education. PreferredEXPERIENCE Two (2) years work experience with young children (birth to 8 years) unless candidate possesses an Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education. RequiredABILITIES AND SKILLS Effective oral and written communication skills. Required Interpersonal skills necessary to deal effectively and courteously with children and parents. Required Sensitivity to the expectations of children and parents. Required Knowledge of Pennsylvania regulations related to Child Care Centers. Required Developed organizational skills Required Current Pediatric First Aid and CPR certification or willingness to obtain. Required Functional ability with microcomputers and associated software programs utilized to maintain Center records. Required Knowledge of NAEYC standards for early childhood accreditation. Preferred ResponsibilitiesAssist the Childcare Teacher with the implementation of developmentally appropriate daily program activities that reflect the programs philosophy and curriculum, as well as goals for individual children.Comply with all requirements for the protection and safety of center children as directed by the Childcare Teacher.Assist the Childcare Teacher with the safe arrival and departure of children.Follow the center's plan to deal with medical emergencies and site evacuations as required.Assist the Childcare Teacher with assessments of children as requested and/or participate in parent conferences, as needed.Assist program staff with serving meals and snacks to children.Maintain classroom materials and equipment in a safe and orderly manner.Assume responsibility for classroom operation in the absence of the Childcare Teacher.Maintain up-to-date accurate written records on children's attendance, results of screenings, medications, assessments, meals, and parent contacts.Participate in staff development opportunities, in service days, and monthly staff meetings.Attend staff and joint academic program and center planning meetings.Serve as a positive role model for the center's children, Penn College students, and volunteers.Encourage parental involvement in related center activities.Physical Standards and Special Job FeaturesAbility to lift 25 lbs.Pay TransparencyBased on minimum education and experience qualifications the hourly range is $13.00 - $16.00.College StatementThis is not a complete itemization of all facets of this position.
