Childcare Center Part Time Aid at Kemmerer Village

The child care aide will help with various tasks at the upcoming Assumption Community Child Care Center such as preparing and serving mealsmonitoring and observing children through daily activities changing diapers writingdaily reports recording attendance engaging in play assisting to put children to sleepand creating a safe positive and clean classroom environment. Assisting the teacherswith the development and implementation of various learning programs will also bewithin the child care aide job description.I. Hours:Part time staff- anything under 34 hour weeksII. On-Call Duties: As needed there will be a list for the fairness of staff. Each timea person is called in they will then be moved to the bottom of the list for next call in needs.Requirements:1) Shall have a high school diploma or equivalency certificate (GED)2) 18 years or older3) Previous work experience with children (Preferred)4) Must be able to stand for long periods of time squat kneel and sit on the floor.Also must be able to see hear and speak with children and within theirenvironment to maintain responsibility for safety. Be able to lift 10-15 lbs regularlyand occasionally up to 50 lbs. Must be comfortable with noise levels moderate tohigh being outdoors with varied weather conditions dependent on season andpossible exposure to bodily fluids.Skills:Staff shall be able to demonstrate the skill and competence necessary to contribute toeach childs physical intellectual personal emotional and social development. Factorscontributing to the attainment of this standard include:1) Emotional maturity when working with children2) Cooperation with the purposes and services of the program3) Respect for children and adults4) Flexibility understanding and patience5) Physical and mental health that do not interfere with child care responsibilities6) Good personal hygiene7) Frequent interaction with children8) Listening skills availability and responsiveness to children9) Sensitivity to childrens socioeconomic cultural ethnic and religiousbackgrounds and individual needs and capabilities10) Use of positive discipline and guidance techniques11) Ability to provide an environment in which children can feel comfortablerelaxed happy and involved in play recreation and other activities12) Demonstrate skills and competence necessary to assume directresponsibility for child care including:a) Skills to help children meet their developmental and emotionalneeds; and skills in planning directing and conducting programsthat meet the childrens basic needs.
