Pure Power is seeking an experienced civil engineer to support Solar PV and Energy Storage designs through construction documents and coordination with external civil engineers to provide seamless integration with electrical drawings. As a full-service engineering firm, we create the electrical and structural drawings and calculation packages for bidding, permits, and construction, as well as supporting the lead up to the full engineering drawings, primarily interconnection support and electrical/structural feasibility studies. Responsibilities Provide civil and environmental expertise, guidance and support Review internal electrical designs to identify conflicts (if any) with ongoing civil site designs or grading and drainage Review external civil site plans, grading and drainage, and construction details for general engineering standards Provide feedback to both internal engineers and external civil engineers for active site designs Complete preliminary site assessments focusing on, but not limited to environmental, historical, zoning, site use, natural heritage, endangered species, local and state permitting Attend internal and external training sessions to keep the civil team informed on new technology or practices in the renewables industry Manage external sub-consultants and engineers Ensure project schedules and deadlines are met within clients' expectations Engage with external civil engineers during project meetings or design review meetings Provide a seamless integration of external civil site plans and site grading with the ongoing electrical designs Develop and maintain a design review schedule with external teams to complete client deliverables on time and within budget Project management duties including but not limited to Develop internal templates, standard operating procedures (SOP), scopes, and workflows for the civil engineering team Support all internal teams with civil engineering guidance, ensuring compliance with industry and Pure Power standards Ability to manage time efficiently across multiple projects Ability to reduce complexity of projects/tasks within their team to increase efficiency. Other tasks as assigned. Bachelors in civil engineering, environmental engineering or other related disciplines. 6 + years experience with civil site design, land development and local permitting processes Demonstrated proficiency working with AutoCAD Civil 3D, surfaces and profiles. Demonstrate an understanding of layer control, dimensioning and scaling, sheet sets, blocks, xrefs, line weights, plot files, and file transmission within AutoCAD Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, and additional computer software. Possesses effective written and oral communications skills. Must possess strong technical verbal and technical writing skills and be able to read technical literature and engineering plans. Must demonstrate two-way communication to effectively work with internal staff and external clients. Good understanding of civil engineering best management practices (BMP) and standards Familiarity with low impact development design and engineering practices. Willing and motivated to grow with the team and learn project management skills Preferred Qualifications Professional Engineering (PE) license. 3+ years' experience designing commercial, rooftop, or utility scale solar PV systems. Experience designing energy storage systems (BESS). Proficiency with HydroCAD and StormCAD modeling software Experience with US Army Corps of Engineers HEC RAS modeling software LocationThis position will be remote out of Boston, MA with quarterly trips to the Hoboken, NJ Headquarters.
