Job DescriptionJob DescriptionJob DescriptionTimmons Group is seeking a Civil Project Engineer II/III - Traffic Analysis and Planning candidate to join our Traffic Analysis and Planning Group located in our Richmond, VA office location.Essential Duties and Responsibilities of a successful candidate include but are not limited to:Complete operational analysis, corridor studies, traffic studies, innovative intersection implementation, traffic calming, and safety analysis;Bicycle/pedestrian/multi-modal feasibility, analysis, design, and implementation;Complete calculations using engineering formulas and skills and/or utilizes computers in order to solve problems;Perform research and writes objective summary reports which are used in the completion of the project work;Assist in the preparation of engineering planning schedules and cost estimatesComplete field observation, inspection, and data collection dutiesCommunicate with client staff and internal design team; andCommunicate results/recommendations to the general public.Skills/Requirements of a successful candidate include but are not limited to:A bachelor's or master's degree in Civil Engineering or closely related fieldIdeal candidates would have between two and six years of experience in Transportation / Traffic Engineering and Planning, but new graduates will be consideredSynchro/SIDRA/HCS proficiency is essentialKnowledge of Traffic Analyses, Planning Studies, Traffic Safety, Traffic Forecasting, Traffic Signal Design, ITS Design, and/or Traffic Signal Timing is preferredBicycle/pedestrian/multi-modal project experience preferredBasic CAD and/or GIS knowledge preferredExperience working with DOT and/or localities; andPE/EIT preferred.Additional InformationThe requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or abilities required.
