STV has an immediate need in our Raleigh NC offices for a Civil/Water Resources Project Engineering Specialist in our Transportation & Infrastructure division.The ideal candidate is an individual who is a self-starter an excellent communicator and possesses a solid understanding of water resources and civil engineering principles.This is an excellent opportunity for a creative self-motivated and detail-oriented professional who enjoys being part of a strong team environment! Will also have opportunities to assist our transportation design efforts providing geometric design for road and bridge projects (these skills are not required and can be learned on numerous projects).Responsibilities include:Assist in delivering innovative quality drainage designs on primarily Alternative Delivery projects in NC and the SoutheastUse hydrologic and hydraulic design software such as OpenRoads Designer (StormCAD) HEC-HMS and HEC-RASUse CADD and mapping software including MicroStation AutoCAD and ESRI ArcGISPrepare various technical reports in support of transportation project drainage designsProduce quality deliverables within the established schedule and budgetPrepare Storm Water Management Reports and culvert/bridge hydrologic & hydraulic studiesProvide professional design services for transportation improvement projects including storm drains culverts storm water management stormwater BMPs ESD/LID facilities and erosion and sediment controlCoordinate permitting through various water management districts including NPDES permit requirements of municipalities and other government entitiesParticipate in project meetings with client teamsAssist with the development of specifications cost estimates and technical reportsEstablish working relationships with internal disciples and project managers within STVRequired Skills:The ideal candidate will have a B.S. in EngineeringM.S. in Engineering is a plus0-5 years of experience of Water Resources Engineering / Transportation Drainage Design- design of storm drain systems culverts storm water management facilities BMPs erosion and sediment control hydrologic and hydraulic modeling floodplain studies environmental permitting and cost estimatingStrong attention to detail with tendency to self-check work prior to formal QCExperience working with NCDOT and other NC municipalities is desiredStrong inter-personal skills for client interaction and collaboration with other engineering disciplinesAbility to obtain an NC PE License preferredThis position is not eligible for sponsorship.Compensation Range:$61760.55 - $82347.40Dont meet every single requirement Studies have shown that women and people of color are less likely to apply to jobs unless they meet every single qualification.
