Job DescriptionJob DescriptionThe Claims Assistant will support the claims staff in the set-up and administration of workers’ compensation claims/case management and other tasks depending on the specific customer needs.This is a remote position.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:Sets up new claimsProcess mail, handle files (until paperless), and input notes/diary entries in the claims systemProcess payments, as neededProcess form letters, state forms and reportsAssist claims examiners with telephone calls including provider, claimant and customer callsAdditional duties as assignedKNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:Excellent written and verbal communication skillsPC literate, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)Ability to work independently and in a team environmentStrong organizational skillsEDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: High school diploma, college degree preferredSix (6) months of service oriented office experience preferredPAY RANGE:CorVel uses a market based approach to pay and our salary ranges may vary depending on your location. Pay rates are established taking into account the following factors: federal, state, and local minimum wage requirements, the geographic location differential, job-related skills, experience, qualifications, internal employee equity, and market conditions. Our ranges may be modified at any time. For leveled roles (I, II, III, Senior, Lead, etc.) new hires may be slotted into a different level, either up or down, based on assessment during interview process taking into consideration experience, qualifications, and overall fit for the role. The level may impact the salary range and these adjustments would be clarified during the offer process.
