Job Description

Our CompanyResCare Community LivingOverviewThe CLASS Attendant is responsible for providing direct care and support services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) enrolled in the Community Living Assistance and Support Services (CLASS) program. The attendant assists clients with daily living activities personal care and the implementation of individualized service plans to enhance their quality of life and promote independence.ResponsibilitiesAssist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing dressing grooming toileting and feeding.Provide mobility assistance including transferring clients from beds to wheelchairs and other necessary movements.Observe and report any changes in the clients physical or emotional condition to the appropriate healthcare professional.Administer medications as directed and assist with medical appointments.Perform light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning laundry and meal preparation.Ensure a safe and clean-living environment for clients.Assist clients in participating in community activities and social events.Support clients in accessing community resources and services.Maintain accurate and timely documentation of services provided client progress and any incidents or concerns.Complete required reports and submit them to supervisors as needed.Implement and follow individualized service plans (ISPs) developed for each client.Collaborate with other team members including healthcare providers and case managers to ensure comprehensive care.Advocate for the rights and needs of clients.Encourage and support clients in making choices and developing self-advocacy skills.QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent required; exceptions to educational requirements must comply with state regulationsExperience providing services and supports to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities or in a caregiving role is preferredMinimum age requirement is 18 yearsMust meet pre-employment requirements based on company and/or State regulationsMust have the ability to use a computer utilizing company documentation systemsAbility to communicate (verbally and written) with all levels of personnel internal and externalCapable of working responsibly with highly confidential informationAbility to follow instructions work independently work as a team and adapt to changingAbout our Line of BusinessResCare Community Living an affiliate of BrightSpring Health Services has five decades of experience in the disability services field providing support to individuals who need assistance with daily living due to an intellectual developmental or cognitive disability.
