Job DescriptionJob DescriptionJob DescriptionAs a Classroom Security Instructional Assistant with The Menta Education Group, you will be responsible for working with classroom instructors and staff to offer targeted teaching and support to students in the classroom, as well as general support for all students in the school.Hours: 7:30-3 p.m., M-F, following a School Calendar, No Nights, No WeekendsBenefitsPaid Benefit Time Off Responsibilities Provide academic support within the classroomManage classroom behaviorsEngage with students and redirect, de-escalateReport behavioral concerns of students to appropriate staffImplement and maintain behavioral program policies and dataMaintain classroom order and safety (Security)Provide general supervision of students inside the school settingAssist in the prevention and management of incidents of non-compliance and/or escalation in behaviorMaintain alertness for problems likely to disrupt the educational process or to be a safety concern and correct and report these conditions Respond to emergency situationsProvide interventions to students to assist in managing behaviorsThink quickly, independently, and tactfullyQualificationsEducation or background in kinesiology, sports, coaching, sports movement, physical education, personal training is helpfulExperience in behavioral science, registered behavior technician, or mental health technician is helpfulSecurity or Juvenile Justice background is helpfulMilitary Veterans are encouraged to applyAbility to operate tactfully under stressFlexibility to change in routinesAt least 23 years of ageAble to work with high-risk special needs studentsGood driving record and willing and able to drive student van is strongly preferredBenefitsBenefit options include: Medical, Dental, Vision, and Supplemental Insurance ProgramsMedical Insurance enrollment is available to full time employees on their date of hire.
