Title: Cleaner with Light Maintenance and RepairPosition Type: Full-Time (SundayThursday 6:00 AM 3:00 PM)Schedule: 40-hour work weekOverview:Hope For Youth is seeking a dedicated and dependable individual to join our Facilities team. The Cleaner with Light Maintenance and Repair responsibilities include daily and deep cleaning tasks across multiple sites along with supporting light maintenance work. The ideal candidate is reliable self-motivated and able to follow directions to maintain safe clean and welcoming environments.We are also honored to announce that the Hauppauge Industrial Association of Long Island (HIA-LI) an advocate for its member organizations since 1978 has recognized HFY as their Not-For Profit Business Award honoree for Excellence in 2025!Primary Responsibilities:Perform daily and deep cleaning of bathrooms kitchens/break rooms common areas and windows.Dry/wet mopping vacuuming and surface sanitizing.Light maintenance and repairs such as painting gutter cleaning minor plumbing (e.g. unclogging toilets) and outdoor groundskeeping.Assist the maintenance team with special projects and facility needs.Respond promptly to work orders and emergency cleaning needs.Maintain accurate documentation of tasks and follow cleaning schedules.Follow all safety protocols including OSHA regulations.Success in this role requires:Ability to work independently across multiple locations.Willingness to adjust schedule for emergencies or special needs (e.g. snow removal urgent repairs).Adherence to agency policies procedures and applicable regulations.Time Allocation:90%: Cleaning maintenance repair and documentation10%: Supervision training and meetingsQualifications:High School Diploma or equivalentFlexible availability and ability to respond to emergenciesPhysical ability to perform duties including lifting using equipment/tools prolonged standing/walking bending stooping climbing stairs/ladders and drivingValid NYS Drivers License in good standingOnly candidates selected for an interview will be contacted.
