As a key contributor to the success of AMD’s product, you will be part of a leading team to drive and improve AMD’s abilities to deliver the highest quality, industry-leading technologies to market. The Systems Design Engineering team fosters and encourages continuous technical innovation to showcase successes as well as facilitate continuous career development. THE PERSON:As a Leader in Systems Design Engineering, you will drive balanced, scalable, and automated solutions. In this high visibility position, your software systems engineering expertise will be necessary towards product strategy, requirements, modeling and projections. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Developing and automating System Performance & Performance/Watt ModelingDirecting system-level data collection to feed performance & performance/watt modelingForecasting system performance across segments and competitive architectures with a time horizon of 5+ yearsDriving technical innovation to improve AMD’s system performance and performance/watt capabilitiesWorking closely with product planning teams to define future system performance requirementsEngaging in other software/hardware modeling frameworksLeading collaborative approach with multiple teams including future workloadsPREFERRED EXPERIENCE:PC system and APU/SOC performance and power managementPrevious performance modeling development experienceProgramming/scripting skills (e.g. C/C++, Perl, Ruby, Python)Extensive knowledge of system architecture, technical debug, and validation strategyStrong analytical/problem-solving skills and pronounced attention to detailsMust be a leader, and able to independently set direction and drive tasks to completionACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:Bachelors or Masters degree in electrical or computer engineeringThis role is not eligible for visa sponsorship#LI-KW1Benefits offered are described:  AMD benefits at a glance.AMD does not accept unsolicited resumes from headhunters, recruitment agencies, or fee-based recruitment services.
