Job DescriptionJob DescriptionPosition OverviewResponsible for providing a safe, fun, educational and engaging canopy tour/climbing experience.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide first-line supervision and instructions of climbing and rappelling activities. Become familiar with the proper gear supplied prior to the camping seasonBecome thoroughly familiar with all information related to the climbing and rappelling facilitiesParticipate in the specialized program training during the staff training period.Continuing on-the-job training throughout the seasonModel the Scout Oath and Law in daily interactionsMaintain a clean, organized, inspected, neat, and safe work areaPerform additional duties assigned by SBR leadershipAbide by policies and procedures outlined in the SBR staff handbookQualificationsMinimum age: 18+Must be able to complete Guide Training and assessment (provided)Preferred: Experience guiding/facilitating and managing others Body weight between 50-250 as per the manufacture's requirement for participation Willing to become a registered Scouting America member (includes background screening)Comfortable using Microsoft Teams for daily work-related communicationPhysical & Practical RequirementsAbility to stand, walk, and hike up to 8 hours daily and ability to lift/move up to 70 poundsComplete the Annual Health and Medical Record, including height/weight guidelinesHousing: 10'x12' platform tent in Staff Camp | Uniform: Summit Staff Uniform | Work Hours: 45-55Desired TraitsHigh emotional intelligence (such as self/social awareness and team dynamics)Positive and cheerful attitude with a strong customer-service focusAdaptability in a fast-paced environment with ability to learn/develop hard and soft skillsAbility to connect with individuals from diverse age groups, maturity, and backgrounds
