Classification Title:Clinical Service Representative IIClassification Minimum Requirements:A high school diploma and two years of appropriate office experience. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute an equivalent rate for the required experience.Job Description:CP Accessions/ Processing:Prepare Clinical Pathology laboratory specimens for designated departments/locations prior to laboratoryanalysis and testing. Unpacks specimens from branches or ports and routes specimens by type to variousstaging areas. Prepares all specimens received for testing in designated laboratory departments orlocations such as staging of specimens centrifuge separating serum and blood smears. Resolves anddocuments problem specimens.Clinical Pathology Specimen Triage/Receiving:Receive and record all specimens into the daily receipt log. This includes checking courier drop bins throughoutthe day for samples. Pre-accession specimens order tests print out labels and attach to paperwork andspecimen container print Test Order form then deliver to the appropriate lab and specimen to the designatedlocation. Forwards a copy of the report to the appropriate in-house physician/lab. Monitor samples being sent tooutside facilities. Notify technologists and appropriate staff of samples that have critical turnaround times(STAT samples).AP Accessions:Prepare Anatomic Pathology laboratory specimens for designated departments/locations prior to laboratoryanalysis and testing. Unpacks specimens and routes specimens by type to various staging areas. Preparesall specimens received for testing in designated laboratory departments or locations. Resolves anddocuments problem specimens.Lead:Acts as a technical lead in the absence of the supervisor. Coordinates the shift assigns tasks oversees theworkflow according to the direction of the team supervisor and ensures work is being completed in a timely any such duties needed to keep the accessioning and processing area running smoothly andperforms the work in an accurate organized and timely manner. Coordinates special testing such asathletic molecular QFT and situations when specimens cannot be tested on site and must be sent out.Monitor courier drop-offs and ensure runs/specimens are not missed. Monitor the expected list to ensureeverything is received and communicated. Keeps track of issues and communicates with Client Serviceswhen frequent issues with oversight and daily processes for the Triage and Accessioning and Processing problems with clinical pathology samples and identify the proper course of action. Monitor issueswith clinical pathology samples and follow up on all outstanding issues. This position will be responsible fortroubleshooting and documenting any and all issues that come up in the day/evening shift and reportingthem directly to their supervisor. Fills out Performance Variation Reports (PVRs) when appropriate.This position will be able to fill vital roles when other staff members are out (including AP triage CP triageCP processing medical record creation). This position will be responsible for training employees on CPreceiving accessioning and problem tracking and resolution.Expected Salary:Starting salary is between $17.80 - $19.75Required Qualifications:A high school diploma and two years of appropriate office experience. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute an equivalent rate for the required experience.Preferred:EPIC or other medical database. Previous registration experience. Communication skills which will allow theprospective employee to interact with UF physicians client physicians and other health professionals in aprofessional manner. Ability to work in a potentially stressful environment.Ability to quickly learn various aspects of Lab Operations.
