We provide community-based prevention and family foster care services, group homes in the community for struggling children and families within the child welfare and juvenile justice systems, and short-term residential services for unaccompanied migrant children. Each year, MercyFirst serves more than 3,000 children, teenagers and families overcome enormous obstacles, re-imagine their futures and develop their full potential.PROGRAM BACKGROUND:Mercy First partnered with ACS to establish a new Clinical Support Program to serve families experiencing challenges with unmet clinical needs in the borough of Queens. The Clinical Support program is an interdisciplinary team of licensed clinicians and support staff, all of whom support families navigating challenges in the areas of mental health, addiction, and IPV. The Clinical Support team works with CPS Teams and/or directly with impacted families to ensure optimal service delivery. The team assists with family engagement approaches, with assessing/screening for the most pressing needs, and with identifying and facilitating connections to relevant resources.POSITION SUMMARY:As part of a new start up program that directly supports and collaborates with ACS staff in assessing families for the entire spectrum of clinical needs, the Case Aide will interface with community-based organizations/providers and the interdisciplinary Clinical Support team. Case Aide will assist with resources and referrals for families in need of psychiatric, substance use related, and medical services.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:A minimum of a high school diploma with 2 years of administrative work experience.Strong writing skills and timely documentation.Strong time management skills and prioritizing task management.As with all Child Welfare related positions, this role will require a robust background check, and a clean driving record is encouraged. RESPONSIBILITIES:The Case Aide will report to the Supervisor and will provide direct assistance to the Site Supervisor, Clinicians, and CASACs; will assist with overall delivery of and/or arrangements for services such as outside providers, i.e. medical and/or specialized clinical services.The Case Aide needs to be a highly motivated and self-reliant professional that can navigate human service systems and build engagements with CBOs, as well as team members, ACS staff, and the families served.The Case Aide is required to document their efforts on electronic platforms such as Connections and must be comfortable with the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, etc., and accessing electronic platforms.The Case Aide will attend all relevant meetings (in-person & virtual), required for the role and provide documentation as needed.
