Job Description
The Division of Hospital Medicine at the University of Washington and Seattle Childrens Hospital is seeking a full time hospitalist at the Clinical Assistant Professor Clinical Associate Professor or Clinical Professor level. Rank will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. Anticipated start date is autumn/winter 2025-2026.Clinical appointments align with a 12-month service period (July 1 June 30) and may be reappointed to subsequent annual terms. Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June) meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. The successful candidate will have duties at Seattle Childrens Hospital/University of Washington School of Medicine. Our career hospitalists have diverse backgrounds and interests and participate in a variety of quality improvement patient safety educational and faculty development initiatives.Our hospitalists attend on the General Medicine resident service for 7-day rotations. We provide direct supervision and bedside/didactic teaching of rotating residents and medical students. We also provide 24/7 in-house coverage for the General Medicine non-resident service which also includes daytime supervision and teaching of rotating medical students and advanced practice providers.All University of Washington faculty engage in teaching research and service.As the second largest Department in the UW School of Medicine Pediatrics has twenty-one clinical divisions with approximately 1400 academic appointments including approximately 650 paid faculty members 134 residents 70 ACGME fellows 230 staff employees and over 600 volunteer/affiliate faculty and continues to grow each year. The Department of Pediatrics is a close affiliate of Seattle Childrens Hospital (SCH) and Seattle Childrens Research Institute (SCRI). Faculty members appointed in the Department are located at various institutions (including Seattle Childrens UW Medicine and FHCRC) and are part of the Childrens University Medical Group (CUMG) clinical practice plan.The base salary range for this position will be: Clinical Assistant Professors $12331 - $18497 per month ($147982 - $221972 annually) Clinical Associate Professors $14038 - $21057 per month ($168462 - $252694 annually) Clinical Professors $16913 - $25369 per month ($202959 - $304439 annually) commensurate with experience and qualifications or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. In addition to base salary provided by the University. Please note that only compensation provided by the University is included in University benefit determinations and calculations. Compensation provided by Childrens University Medical Group (CUMG) practice plan may provide eligibility for separate benefits offered by that organization. Other compensation associated with this position may include incentive through Childrens University Medical Group practice plan. Additional administrative responsibilities may be offered to a specific candidate with appropriate experience and qualifications which may result in an administrative supplement (ADS).Compensation provided by Childrens University Medical Group (CUMG) practice plan may provide eligibility for separate benefits offered by that organization. Please see additional benefits that may be available: MD or DO (or foreign equivalent) degree; an MD/DO combined (or foreign equivalent) is also acceptable.US Board certification or US Board eligibility in Hospital Pediatrics.Completion of a pediatric residency.Must be currently licensed as a physician or eligible for licensure as a physician in Washington state.
