Job Type Full-time
Salary Range $70,000–$80,000, with final compensation determined based on experience and
qualifications.
Job Summary
Founded in 2001, Kalasho Education & Youth Services is a non-profit organization dedicated to
supporting youth with comprehensive educational programs, advocacy, healthcare, legal aid, and business literacy training.
The Therapist will be dedicated to helping individuals and families in need improve their quality of
life through providing resources, counseling, and advocacy.
Specific responsibilities for the social worker position include:
- Provide individual, family, and/or group psychotherapy using evidence-based therapeutic
approaches to support clients’ mental health and overall well-being.
- Provide parent-child relationship focused therapy to children aged 0-6
- IMH endorsement (or willingness to be endorsed) not required but strongly preferred
- Work cooperatively as a member of a team with program staff and community partners.
- Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments to evaluate clients’ emotional,
behavioral, and psychological needs, as well as their strengths and support systems, in
order to develop appropriate treatment goals.
- Respond appropriately to crisis situations, including mental health emergencies, risk of
harm to self or others, and mandated reporting concerns.
- Monitor client progress through ongoing sessions, reassessments, and follow-up to ensure
treatment goals are being met.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation, including intake assessments,
treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries in accordance with professional
and regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with psychiatrists, primary care providers, case managers, and other members
of the client’s care team to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care.
- Provide psychoeducation and coping strategies to clients and families to support
long-term mental health.
Qualifications
- A master’s degree in social work
- Registration/licensure as a social worker in the State of Michigan required.
- At least one year direct clinical experience in providing therapy services to young
children and their families required
