OverviewDay Shift 32 hrs/weekThe Clinical Professional Development Specialist is committed to ensuring education services and resource support to patient care leadership clinical staff and patients. This is accomplished through a variety of services; from staff development and continuing education for employees to a leadership role in committee/project work. The position requires an independent critical thinking self-motivated individual who demonstrates effective decision-making and problem-solving skills flexibility and the ability to take a leadership role in facilitating organizational change through partnerships with staff and managers. Delivers continuing education modules and courses.Assesses competencies and education needs of clinical staffFacilitates in-service activities emerging leader programsConsults with department managers and directors regarding education plans for staff developmentProgram ManagementDesigns plans facilitates and evaluates various programs for continuing education contact hours and to improve knowledge and increase skills of patient care employeesCareer DevelopmentProvides career and academic coaching and guidance to clinical staffCreating/supporting clinical advancement modelsAssists department managers with building competency for high potential individual contributors as part of succession planningPrecepting nursing studentsQualificationsEducation:Registered Nurse-Licensed and Registered in the State of Iowa BSN preferred.Experience: 3 Years of Acute Care ExperienceLicense(s)/Certification(s): State of Iowa RN BCLS ACLS PALS or NRP. Must be BCLS/ACLS/PALS instructor certified within first year of service.*Specific offers are determined by various factors such as experience skills internal equity and other business needs.
