Job Description
Completed a nursing assistant course or equivalent experience or completed a nursing or health care related clinical practicum course. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.Education*High school diploma or equivalent preferred.Experience*One year of previous Nursing Assistant experience or equivalent experience preferred.Skills and Abilities*Proficient communication critical thinking and prioritization skills required.*Strong organizational skills.*Excellent customer service skills.*Must be able to read write and speak effectively in English to perform functions of the position.*Skills in basic computer operation. As a member of the largest pediatric heart program in the state our team works closely with more than 200 interdisciplinary professionals dedicated to the care of children with life-changing cardiovascular this unit we care for patients along their continuum of acute recovery to provide for their changing physical and emotional needs as we prepare them to return home. We specialize in caring for children experiencing heart failure after repair of congenital heart defects and heart catheterization and before and after transplant. We routinely utilize extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT) and ventricular assist devices (VAD) in the care we provide. Our patient population requires hemodynamic monitoring critical medication management maintenance of systemic perfusion and management of organ failure.
