Casemer Tool & Machine is expanding its quality assurance team to support continued production growth across large CNC milling, turning, grinding, and assembly operations.
As a family-owned shop operating since 1979, Casemer has built its reputation on precision, reliability, and consistent on-time delivery. The CMM Inspector plays a critical role in ensuring machined components meet specifications and tolerances before they reach customers.
The Work You'll Be Doing
In this role, you will:
- Operate and program Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM)
- Inspect machined parts and assemblies for dimensional accuracy
- Perform first article, in-process, and final inspections
- Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and CAD files
- Document inspection results and report non-conformances
- Utilize micrometers, calipers, height gages, and other precision measuring tools
- Collaborate with machinists and engineers to resolve quality issues
- Maintain accurate inspection records and support continuous improvement efforts
You will be working within a high-capability CNC machining environment producing large and complex precision components.

You'll work with advanced quality systems including:
CMM Software:
- PC-DMIS
- Zeiss Calypso (or similar)
Inspection Equipment:
- Zeiss Contura & DuraMax CMMs
- Aberlink CMM
- Mitutoyo Crysta Apex
- Keyence Measurement Systems
- Brown & Sharpe CMM
- Laser micrometers, profilometers
- Surface plates, gage blocks, bore gages, hardness testers
Materials You'll Inspect
- Aluminum
- Alloy & Stainless Steels
- Titanium
- Exotic Alloys
- Ceramics
Casemer machines virtually all machinable materials, including high-performance alloys.
What We're Looking For
Required:
- 2+ years experience as a CMM Inspector in a CNC machining environment
- Proficiency in CMM programming and operation (PC-DMIS, Zeiss Calypso, or similar)
- Strong understanding of GD&T
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
Preferred:
- Experience inspecting large machined components
- Experience in a high-mix job shop environment
