By connecting with Pivot Group, you position yourself for roles that match your background and aspirations.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop, write, and debug CMM programs for part inspection based on engineering drawings and CAD models.Interpret GD&T specifications to create accurate and efficient measurement routines.Select appropriate probes, fixtures, and measurement strategies for various part geometries.Perform First Article Inspections (FAI), in-process, and final inspections using CMM.Analyze measurement data, generate comprehensive inspection reports, and communicate results.Troubleshoot CMM hardware, software, and programming issues to ensure operational efficiency.Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to optimize inspection processes and resolve measurement discrepancies.Recommended QualificationsProficiency in CMM programming software (e.g., PC-DMIS, Calypso, MCOSMOS).Strong understanding and application of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications.Experience with various metrology instruments and measurement techniques.Knowledge of manufacturing processes and their impact on part quality.Bonus QualificationsAdvanced proficiency with CAD software for model manipulation or fixture design.Experience with multiple CMM software platforms (e.g., PC-DMIS, Calypso, MCOSMOS).Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) methodologies and data analysis.Familiarity with other metrology equipment (e.g., vision systems, laser scanners, optical comparators).Job Titles That Should ApplyCMM Programmer, Metrology Technician, Dimensional Inspector, Quality Control Inspector (CMM), CMM Operator, Inspection Programmer, Measurement SpecialistWhy Pivot GroupThe Pivot Group was founded by manufacturing professionals who've been on both sides of the hiring process.
