Job DescriptionJob DescriptionCoordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) Programmer/Quality Inspector Location: Cast Technologies Reports To: Quality ManagerJob Summary:We are seeking a skilled Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) Programmer/Quality Inspector to join our quality assurance team in a busy non-ferrous foundry and machine shop. This role requires both hands-on operation and programming of CMMs to inspect precision-cast and machined components. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in metrology, GD&T, and PCDMIS software, with the ability to create and optimize inspection programs that ensure dimensional compliance with engineering specifications.Key Responsibilities:Program and operate CMM equipment to inspect cast and machined components made from non-ferrous metals (e.g., aluminum, brass, bronze).Develop, test, and validate CMM programs using part drawings and CAD models in software such as PC-DMIS.Perform First Article Inspections (FAI), in-process checks, and final dimensional verifications.Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T callouts, and customer specifications to create accurate inspection routines.Document and communicate inspection results through detailed reports; maintain inspection logs and quality records.Provide production and engineering feedback on dimensional issues, trends, or potential process improvements.Maintain and calibrate inspection tools and ensure all metrology equipment is in proper working condition.Support continuous improvement and manufacturing initiatives within the quality department.Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in CMM programming or quality inspection preferred.Minimum of 2 year of experience programming and operating CMMs in a manufacturing setting.Proficiency in CMM programming software (preferably PC-DMIS).Strong knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).Skilled in the use of hand inspection tools (micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, height gauges, etc.).Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and CAD files.Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and communication abilities.Capable of working independently and as part of a cross-functional team.Working Conditions:Industrial environment with exposure to foundry and machining operations.Standing, walking, and light lifting (up to 50lbs) required.Use of PPE includes safety glasses and hearing protection as necessary.Benefits:Competitive compensation commensurate with experienceComprehensive health, vision, dental, and life insurancePaid Time Off and Holiday Pay
