James Tool Machine and Engineering, Inc. is hiring a skilled CNC Horizontal Mill Machinist to join our team in Morganton, NC. This is a job shop environment where adaptability, precision, and problem-solving are essential. The ideal candidate will be proficient in programming, set-up, and operation of CNC horizontal mills while maintaining repeatability, efficiency, and quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T
• Develop CNC programs in an organized and cost-effective manner
• Set up and operate CNC horizontal mills for high-precision machining
• Perform test runs and make adjustments to meet blueprint specifications
• Troubleshoot and resolve machining and programming issues
• Optimize cutting paths and settings to improve efficiency while maintaining tolerances
• Conduct quality assurance inspections to ensure compliance with specifications
• Support AS9100 & ISO 9001 quality standards and policies
• Follow all plant safety procedures and contribute to a safe workplace

Requirements

• 3+ years of CNC machining experience (horizontal milling preferred)
• Strong programming skills (manual, conversational, or CAM)
• Mastercam experience preferred
• Proficient with precision measuring instruments and inspection techniques
• Knowledge of GD&T
• Ability to work independently in a job shop environment
• Willingness to work overtime as required
