CNC Lathe Machinist Setup or Operator (Fanuc/Haas/Okuma)

Location: Schiller Park, IL

Pay: $23.00 $30.00 per hour (Based on Experience)

Shifts Available: 2nd Shift

Job Overview

We are seeking both CNC Lathe Operators and Setup Machinists to join our well-maintained job shop in Schiller Park. Whether you are an experienced operator looking to grow or a setup expert capable of high-precision work, we have a place for you. You will work in a supportive, "family-feel" environment with a team of 50, handling a variety of short and long production runs.

What You Will Do

• Machine Operation & Setup: Run and/or set up CNC lathe machines, including Okuma and Haas models.
• Technical Precision: Work with Fanuc controls and maintain tight tolerances down to 5/10,000ths.
• Programming: For setup roles, you will load part programs and use G, M, and S codes to edit programs at the machine.
• Quality Inspection: Conduct first-piece inspections and quality checks using micrometers, calipers, and test indicators.
• Shop Support: Select correct tooling and materials based on blueprints and work orders.

Qualifications

• Experience: 35 years of CNC experience is preferred, though we will hire at different levels based on skill. Need Fanuc controls experience
• Technical Skills: Proficiency with measuring instruments and a solid understanding of shop math.
• Blueprints: Ability to read and interpret complex work orders and blueprints.
• Physical: Ability to lift up to 60 lbs and work on your feet in a shop environment.
• Education: High School Diploma or GED is preferred; Advanced Machine Skills training is a major plus.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of SCHILLER PARK, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $32.00/hr.
