JOB DESCRIPTION
CNC Lathe Machinist
This position is for a CNC Lathe Machinist in a dynamic job shop environment focused on producing parts for the Aerospace industries. The role involves daily team meetings to discuss schedules, setting up and operating assigned machines, and collaborating with the quality team to ensure parts meet specifications before proceeding with production.
Responsibilities
- Participate in daily team meetings to discuss schedules.
- Set up and operate assigned machines, typically one to two depending on cycle times.
- Collaborate with the quality team to verify parts are approved before continuing production.
- Utilize micrometers and calipers to ensure parts meet specifications.
- Maintain precision within +/-.001 tolerance.
- Operate HAAS, Doosan, or Mazaks machines utilizing G&M code via Mazatrol programming.
- Interpret blueprints and work instructions to ensure parts meet specifications.
- Adjust feeds and speeds as necessary.
Work Environment
The work environment includes a well-lit shop housing 20 CNC machines, a mix of mills and lathes. Safety is prioritized with the requirement of steel-toed shoes and eye protection. The working hours are from 7 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday to Friday, with occasional pre and post-shift work up to 1 hour, totaling a maximum of 50 hours per week.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of South Bend, IN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $28.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
