This role is critical to producing complex, tight-tolerance components from exotic materials, and is ideal for a machinist who can own the entire process - from programming to setup to finished part.
The Work You'll Be Doing
In this role, you will:
- Program, set up, and operate Okuma CNC lathes independently
- Machine complex precision parts from print/model to finished product
- Work with live tooling / mill-turn operations (when applicable)
- Select tooling, set offsets, and establish workholding
- Perform first-piece and in-process inspection
- Hold tight tolerances on high-spec components
- Troubleshoot machining issues and adjust feeds, speeds, and offsets
- Identify and correct out-of-tolerance conditions
- Collaborate with production, quality, and leadership to resolve issues
- Support and mentor less experienced machinists as needed
- Maintain a clean, organized workspace and perform basic machine maintenance
Machines, Controls & Equipment
You'll be working with:
- Machines: Okuma CNC lathes (single turret, live tooling / mill-turn)
- Controls: Okuma OSP (REQUIRED)
- Inspection Tools: Calipers, micrometers (ID/OD), depth gauges, indicators, scales
Materials You'll Work With
- Stainless Steel
- Alloy Steels
- Exotic Materials (common in oilfield, aerospace, and defense applications)
What We're Looking ForRequired:
- 5+ years of CNC lathe machining experience
- Strong experience with Okuma OSP controls
- Ability to program, set up, and run independently
- Ability to read blueprints and interpret GD&T
- Strong understanding of tooling, inserts, boring bars, and workholding
- Experience using precision measuring instruments
- Solid math skills (geometry, basic algebra for machining calculations)
- Ability to communicate clearly in English (written and verbal)
- Adaptability in a fast-paced, production-driven environment
Preferred (Not Required):
- Experience with live tooling / mill-turn lathes
- Experience machining tight-tolerance parts in aerospace, oil & gas, or defense

Pay, Benefits & Schedule
Pay Range: $28 - $35/hr (DOE)
