Job DescriptionJob TypeFull-timeDescriptionCNC Lathe OperatorWith minimal supervision, perform CNC Lathe machining.CNC Lathe Operator Duties:Read and interpret mechanical drawings and router instructionSetup and machine parts to blueprints and/or work instructionsSelect appropriate toolingAct as in-process inspector where requiredGenerate Non-conforming Material Reports as needed.Troubleshoot technical issues in repair processIdentify necessary modifications to operator instruction sheets and communicate to EngineeringMonitor consumable supply levels and communicate shortagesCross train in other areas of machine shopTrain associate ON CNC Lathe machineMaintain a safe and clean work environmentCommunicate issues to supervisorPerform basic preventative maintenance on CNC LatheObserve safety guidelines and wear and maintain personal protective equipment (PPE) when necessary.Other duties may be assigned.RequirementsCNC Lathe Operator Requirements:Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and work instructionsAbility to stand for extended periods of timeFamiliarity with precision measuring toolsAbility to maintain tolerances of .0005 inch.Basic math skillsProficient with hand toolsEffective communication skillsProficient in use of precision measuring toolsMinimum 3 years' experience involving similar equipment, processes, measuring tools and machining operations.The statements herein are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by employees and are not to be construed as an exhaustive list of responsibilities, duties, and skills required of personnel so classified.
