The Work You'll Be Doing
In this role, you will:
- Operate CNC machines under close supervision as part of a structured training program
- Perform visual inspections to ensure parts meet workmanship and cleanliness standards
- Conduct basic dimensional inspections using appropriate gages and record results accurately
- Read and interpret low-complexity blueprints and component drawings
- Learn to identify and adjust CNC offsets when parts are out of specification
- Populate daily production boards with output, quality, and safety metrics
- Identify cycle times and calculate basic production rates
- Weigh and count production pieces using scales
- Maintain a clean, organized workstation, including end-of-shift machine wipe-downs and floor cleaning
- Remove chips and dispose of material according to guidelines
- Accurately record heat lot numbers, inspection data, and production information
Machines, Controls & Inspection Tools
You'll gain hands-on exposure to:
- CNC Machines: Production CNC equipment (mills and/or lathes depending on department)
- Controls: CNC machine interfaces (training provided)
- Inspection Tools: Calipers, basic gages, scales, visual inspection tools
- Documentation: Inspection logs, production tracking boards, quality records
(No programming experience required - training provided)
Materials You'll Work With
- Stainless steel
- Specialty alloys used in medical and dental instruments
What We're Looking For
Required
- High School Diploma or GED
- Ability to follow instructions and work under close supervision
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Basic math skills and comfort with measurements
- Ability to write clearly and maintain accurate records
- Dependable, safety-conscious, and team-oriented
Preferred (Not Required)
- 1-2 years of manufacturing experience
- Exposure to CNC machining or inspection
- Experience reading simple blueprints or drawings

Pay, Benefits & Schedule
Pay Range: $16 - $20/hr (DOE)
