NC programs and controller use. Work piece and machine set-up. Machinists are responsible to make sure their machines are working at full capacity, well-maintained and perform period checks on output. The Machinist must look at the product to ensure that it is ready for the next step in the production process.Key Responsibilities:Fully proficient in blueprint reading and understanding of geometric tolerancingAble to make complex component set ups on VBM'sAble to write and edit programs for VBM'sAble to make complex components set ups on HBM'sKeep Supervisor informed of problems regarding work piece, schedule, safety, etc. as they ariseAble to write and edit programs for HBM'sCleans up sweepings of machine tool operation scrap and collects in scrap/trash binsAble to set up feeds, speeds and judge cutter/insert condition to optimize machining operation for meeting surface finish and productivityoperate overhead cranes and forklift trucksQualificationsEducation and/or Experience:High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and four years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Language Skills:Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.Mathematical:Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
