JOB DESCRIPTION
CNC Machinist
We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to operate and program computer numerically controlled (CNC) machines, including lathes, mills, and laser systems. The ideal candidate ensures efficient production, maintains high-quality standards, and optimizes machining procedures.
Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain CNC lathes, milling machines, and other machining equipment.
- Review engineering drawings, blueprints, instructions, or samples to ensure accurate production.
- Take precise measurements for cutting, shaping, and finishing operations.
- Select appropriate machines, tooling, and settings for each task.
- Plan and sequence machining operations to maximize efficiency.
- Monitor production, adjusting feeds, speeds, and parameters as needed.
- Inspect finished parts for quality, accuracy, and adherence to specifications.
- Perform routine machine maintenance and minor repairs.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
- Collaborate with team members to accomplish production goals and related tasks.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in operating CNC lathes, mills, and laser systems.
- Ability to review and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.
- Competence in taking precise measurements and selecting appropriate tools.
- Experience in planning and sequencing machining operations.
- Skill in inspecting parts for quality and specifications.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with TIG welding, including working with stainless steel and aluminum.
- Ability to perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on machinery.

Work Environment
This position operates in a dirty and industrial setting where noise levels can be high due to machinery operation. The role is physically demanding, requiring the ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy equipment, and properly wear and use safety gear.
The shift is from 6am to 2:30pm, Monday to Friday.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Newark, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $38.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
