The Opportunity We collaborate with manufacturing companies in the Manistee region seeking CNC Machinists. Key Responsibilities Set up operate and maintain CNC machines (mills lathes grinders). Read and interpret blueprints engineering drawings and G-code. Monitor machine operations and adjust settings to ensure quality and optimize performance. Perform in-process and final inspections of machined parts using precision measuring instruments. Load and unload parts tooling and fixtures accurately and efficiently. Troubleshoot and resolve minor machine alarms or operational issues. Conduct routine preventative maintenance on CNC equipment. Recommended Qualifications Proficiency in setting up and operating CNC milling and/or turning centers. Strong understanding of G-code and M-code for programming editing and troubleshooting. Ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints schematics and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T). Experience with precision measuring instruments such as calipers micrometers and bore gauges. Skilled in performing in-process quality checks and making necessary adjustments to maintain part specifications. Bonus Qualifications Experience with advanced metrology equipment (e.g. CMM optical comparators). Demonstrated ability to write or optimize G-code manually for complex parts. Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles or continuous improvement methodologies. Basic machine maintenance and troubleshooting skills.
