This role exists to support ongoing production demand and growth at Viant Medical's Wheeling, IL facility. CNC Machinists play a critical role in producing high-precision medical device components, where consistency, accuracy, and quality directly impact patient outcomes.

The Work You'll Be Doing

In this role, you will:

• Set up, operate, and adjust CNC milles, lathes, or swiss machines for precision production
• Load parts, monitor cycles, and make offset adjustments as needed
• Inspect parts using blueprints, gauges, and precision measuring tools
• Hold tight tolerances required for medical device manufacturing
• Troubleshoot machining issues and correct problems to maintain quality
• Deburr, buff, and finish parts to print specifications
• Perform routine preventative maintenance on assigned machines
• Follow safety, quality, and lean manufacturing standards

Machines, Controls & Inspection

You'll work with CNC equipment and inspection tools such as:

• Machines:
  • Star and Citizen CNC Swiss Machines
  • Multi-axis CNC mills and lathes
• Controls: Fanuc / Haas-style controls (typical)
• Inspection Tools: Calipers, micrometers, gauges, blueprint & GD&T interpretation

Materials You'll Work With

• Medical-grade metals and components
• Small, tight-tolerance precision parts

What We're Looking For

Required:

• 2+ years of CNC machining experience
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to read blueprints and work to close tolerances
• Experience inspecting parts and maintaining dimensional accuracy
• Reliable, safety-minded, and team-oriented

Preferred (Not Required):

• Experience in medical device manufacturing
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing practices
• Experience with both CNC mills and lathes

Pay, Benefits & Schedule

Pay: $25 - $25/hour (DOE)
Shift Premium: % for 2nd shift or 3rd shift
