Cnc Operator at Aerotek
JOB DESCRIPTION
CNC Operator
The CNC Operator is responsible for operating CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machinery to produce precision parts according to specifications. This role ensures quality, safety, and productivity standards are met while maintaining an efficient manufacturing workflow.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC machines (mills, lathes, routers, or related equipment)
- Load raw materials and secure fixtures or tooling
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work instructions
- Monitor machine operations and make adjustments as needed
- Measure and inspect finished parts using precision tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges)
- Perform basic machine maintenance and troubleshooting
- Identify quality issues and make corrections or notify supervision
- Maintain accurate production and quality documentation
- Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area
- Meet productivity, quality, and scrap-reduction goals
Qualifications
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience operating CNC machinery in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to read blueprints and basic technical drawings
- Familiarity with precision measuring tools
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
Preferred:
- Technical training or certificate in CNC machining or manufacturing
- Experience with G-code and CNC programming edits
- Knowledge of metal machining, tooling, and cutting processes
- Experience with ISO, lean manufacturing, or continuous improvement practices

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bessemer, AL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $26.00/hr.
