Job Summary Title: Career-Level Machinist Location: Santa Rosa, CA Duration: 24-month contract Our client is a long-standing leader in electronic measurement technology. Their Precision Meso-scale Technology Center (PMTC), located on the Santa Rosa campus, provides mechanical solutions that support the company’s cutting-edge electronic measurement equipment. As a machinist, you will help develop and sustain machining processes using advanced tools such as Swiss-style lathes, multi-turret lathes, and 3- to 5-axis milling centers. You will collaborate closely with R&D teams on microwave applications, influence mechanical component design, and ensure manufacturability for both prototype and production environments. Responsibilities Develop and sustain machining processes using: Swiss-style lathes Single & multi-turret lathes 3–5 axis milling centers Work with R&D to influence mechanical design for manufacturability Support release and production processes Interface with Engineering, Maintenance, Management, and Production/NPI Schedulers Contribute to precision machining operations with a strong focus on quality and detail Qualifications & Attributes Career-level machinist experience Strong precision, attention to detail, and willingness to learn Positive attitude, team-oriented, adaptable Ability to collaborate cross-functionally Desired Experience (Highly Preferred) 3–5 axis milling Swiss-style lathes Mill/turn machine centers Advanced metrology CNC/CAM programming CAD/solid modeling Tool grinding Ability to interpret complex specifications, including GD&T
