This is not a programming role - it's ideal for a hands-on operator who enjoys running machines, maintaining quality, and keeping production flowing.
The Work You'll Be Doing
In this role, you will:
- Operate CNC vertical machining centers (VMCs) and CNC lathes
- Load parts, run programs, and monitor machine performance
- Perform minor program edits and offset adjustments at the machine
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Inspect finished parts using precision measuring tools
- Perform in-process checks to ensure quality standards are maintained
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
This is a shop-floor role suited for someone who enjoys steady production work and takes ownership of part quality.
Machines, Controls & Inspection
You'll work with equipment such as:
Machines: CNC Vertical Machining Centers (VMCs), CNC Lathes
Controls: Fanuc / Haas-style controls (user-friendly interface)
Inspection Tools: Calipers, micrometers, and standard precision measuring tools
Materials You'll Work With
- Mild steel
- Alloy steel
- Aluminum
What We're Looking ForRequired:
- 2+ years of CNC operating experience (mills and/or lathes)
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints
- Comfortable performing minor program edits and offset adjustments
- Experience using calipers, micrometers, and other inspection tools
- Must supply your own basic measuring tools
- Reliable transportation to onsite Central Texas facility
Preferred:
- Experience running both VMCs and lathes
- Experience in a production machining environment
- Strong attention to detail and consistency
