Job DescriptionOVERVIEWCadrex is searching for a CNC Set Up II to set up and operate conventional, special purpose, and CNC Machining Centers to ready machines to fabricate metallic and nonmetallic parts. This role requires advanced knowledge of CNC machining processes, tooling setup, and troubleshooting. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESSet up CNC machines for production runs, including selecting tooling, loading materials, and securing workpiecesInterpret engineering drawings, models, and specifications to understand machining requirementsInstall and adjust cutting tools, fixtures, and other accessories according to job specificationsProgram CNC machines using CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, GibbsCAM) or manual programming techniquesConduct test runs and verify program accuracy by performing trial cuts and measurements on sample workpiecesMonitor machining processes and make adjustments as needed to ensure quality, accuracy, and adherence to production schedulesTroubleshoot machining issues and resolve problems related to tooling, equipment, or programmingCollaborate with production, engineering, and quality control teams to identify opportunities for process improvement and optimizationTrain and mentor junior CNC operators on setup and operation techniquesPerform routine maintenance on CNC machines, including cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn or damaged componentsAdhere to safety protocols and procedures at all times, including proper handling and operation of CNC machines and equipmentRequirementsPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS3+ years of experience setting up CNC machines in a manufacturing environmentProficiency in CNC programming languages, such as G-code and M-code, and experience with CAM softwareStrong knowledge of machining processes, tooling, materials, and tolerancesAbility to interpret engineering drawings, models, and technical specificationsExceptional problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot machining issues and optimize CNC programsStrong attention to detail and ability to work with precision and accuracyEffective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teamsCommitment to safety and adherence to company policies and proceduresEDUCATION2-year technical certification or equivalent experience preferredLOCATIONOnsiteSCHEDULEMonday-Thursday; 6:00am to 4:30pmTOTAL COMPENSATION INCLUDESHealth/dental/vision coverage Employer-paid and supplemental life insurance Short- and long-term disability insurance Generous paid time off and holiday pay Monthly remote work stipend (for remote employees who qualify) 401(k) investment plan, with an employer match of up to 4% Education support program Safety eyeglasses/shoe reimbursement Referral bonuses Bonus plan for all full-time employees WORK ENVIRONMENTWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and vibration.
