Why This Role Exists

This role exists due to continued growth and increased production demands at a Central Texas machining operation.

The company is seeking an experienced CNC Shop Supervisor who can take ownership of programming, setups, and daily shop operations. This person will play a key role in keeping production running efficiently while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.

This is a hands-on leadership role - ideal for someone who can both lead a team and work directly on the machines.

The Work You'll Be Doing

In this role, you will:

  • Program, set up, and operate CNC machines including VMCs, CNC lathes, and horizontal machines
  • Create, edit, and optimize CNC programs to improve efficiency and accuracy
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications
  • Perform full setups, select tooling, and establish offsets
  • Verify part quality using precision measuring instruments
  • Machine a variety of materials including aluminum, brass, copper, and plastics
  • Troubleshoot programming, setup, and machining issues independently
  • Lead the machine shop team and oversee day-to-day operations
  • Ensure safety, quality, and production standards are consistently met

This role requires someone who can lead from the front, solve problems quickly, and keep production moving in a fast-paced environment.

What We're Looking For

Required:

  • Proven experience as a CNC programmer and machinist
  • Strong experience with VMCs, CNC lathes, and horizontal machines
  • Ability to program, edit, and optimize CNC programs
  • Strong blueprint reading and tolerance control
  • Experience performing full setups and selecting tooling
  • Leadership ability to oversee and guide a machine shop team
  • Ability to troubleshoot machining and programming issues independently
  • Must provide and maintain your own precision measuring tools

Preferred:

  • Trade school or technical certification
  • Experience with Fusion 360 and ERP systems (JobBOSS)

Monday-Friday Day Shift
On-site only (30 miles east of Waco, TX)
