Snapshot of your day

As a Coating Engineer for Ceramic, Thermal Barrier and Coating experience at Siemens Energy, you will be immersed in a dynamic international team of engineers and scientists. Your day will involve developing new coating materials, manufacturing processes, and innovative technologies for stationary gas turbines and other areas pivotal to the energy transition. You will collaborate closely with internal and external partners, including those specializing in advanced ceramic coating technologies and raw material manufacturing. Your role will encompass leading all aspects of managing and supporting the introduction of innovative technologies, from qualification and industrialization to series production. Additionally, you will explore public funding opportunities and coordinate acquisition in partnership with research institutions. Your work will span various departments and interfaces, focusing on developing new ceramic coating technologies tailored to customer requirements.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Analyze customer requirements in the field of high-temperature coatings
  • Aid in the development of innovative materials and processes
  • Serve as the technical interface between internal and external partners to coordinate technology development, design, manufacturing, quality, and service
  • Secure public funding to support research and development projects

What you bring

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in materials science, materials engineering, chemical engineering, or mechanical engineering is preferred
  • Several years of professional experience in ceramic coatings or ceramic materials, including thermal barrier coatings, corrosion coatings, technical ceramics, functional ceramics, and refractory materials
  • In-depth knowledge of high-temperature materials, oxidation, and corrosion protection mechanisms
  • Proficiency in project management (PLM), fluency in German and English, and a willingness to travel internationally

Our Gas Services division offers Low-emission power generation through service and decarbonization. Zero or low emission power generation and all gas turbines under one roof, steam turbines and generators. Decarbonization opportunities through service offerings, modernization, and digitalization of the fleet.
