Job DescriptionJob DescriptionTrailer Tow Module Design and Release Engineer 1) Development of new Trailer Tow hardware, software, and systems:a. Work with lead engineer to take responsibility for a subset of parts/requirements.b. Lead design reviews with internal and external teams including suppliers.c. Quality documentation development and reviewsd. Ensure requirements such as FMVSS, and other regulatory or legal requirements are mete. Packaging of Trailer Tow module into the vehicle environment.f. Develop and execute design verification plan (DVP) for system on bench, HIL, and vehicle per program milestones requirements (DCV, PEC, FEC, etc). Track status in FEDE and JIRA for issues.g. Manage parts release in WERS.h. Support programs through launch by leading issue resolution and presenting status to management.i. Collaborate with IVI, body exterior, and Vehicle Operations teams to ensure interface and process/assembly requirements are met.j. Travel to supplier facilities and assembly plants as needed to support design reviews and launches of new products, APQP and PPAP approval.k. Additional responsibilities may include the following: FEDE BOM, Netcom Message List, ARXML, Device Transmittal, VSCS, ED&T and Mountain Charts, ESOW 2) Support Warranty Analysis and quality improvement:a. Warranty Parts Center, weekly parts review with supplier.b. Weekly Warranty reviews with supplier and PVT’sc. Warranty parts tracking and data bases maintenance (Excel, Power BI, Sharepoint, etc)d. Warranty reviews and presentation with management and program teamse. Work with Quality and FCSD departments on improvement initiatives. Skills Required:1.      Product Design – Experience with Systems design engineering, Modeling, Design validation and verification, simulations...DFMEA, Boundary Diagrams, Interface analysis, etc.2.      Design Release Engineer – Design and release processes for complex systems, being able to coordinate complexity, cost, weight and Part Numbers.3.      Process Validation – Testing, Validation, Assessment of products and designs4.      Embedded Systems – good understanding of complex electronics systems to integrate in a major system environment. Experience Required:a. Candidate should have minimum of 2 years of experience with design and testing of Automotive electrical systems – hardware, software, and systems.b. Experience with vehicle network tools including CANalyzer.c.
