This role ensures compliance with regulatory standards optimizes coding accuracy and drives continuous education for coding professionals and providers. The manager serves as a strategic leader collaborating with revenue cycle compliance and clinical documentation teams to maintain high-quality coding and documentation practices.Bachelors degree in HIM/ Healthcare Administration OR Equivalent Work Experience: 7 years progressive work experience in Coding and 2 years auditing and education experience in a coding or compliance department.Expertise in ICD-10 CM/PCS HCPCS and CPT-4 coding systems.Proven experience in developing and delivering educational programs in a healthcare setting.Knowledge of Medicare Medicaid and other third-party payer regulations related to coding guidelines.Proficiency with coding and auditing software and EMR systems.RHIA RHIT CCS CPC at least one of these credentials requiredCPMA and/or CHC preferredAdditional Job DescriptionEducation: Bachelors Degree or Equivalent Work Experience: 7 years progressive work experience and 2 years management experienceIf you like working with energetic enthusiastic individuals you will enjoy your career with us!The Medical University of South Carolina is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
