Get to know CON About the PositionThe ideal candidate will have a record that demonstrates excellent teaching potential with expertise in teaching topics in nursing.  Additionally, the ideal candidate should have a strong commitment to teaching and service and should thrive in a diverse and intellectually stimulating environment.Duties:Participate in the ongoing development, implementation, evaluation, and enhancement of nursing academic programs:Teach nursing courses as assigned. While the candidate may be hired to primarily teach in a specific program or program level, teaching assignments are based on UT CON needs as well as individual faculty member expertise and performance; faculty may be asked to teach across both undergraduate and graduate programs.Supervise and provide written evaluation of nursing students as assignedCollaborate with clinical agencies in arranging student clinical experiences (e.g. orientation to objectives of clinical experience, course syllabus, clinical schedule, et al) as appropriate.Ensure courses reflect program outcomes, AACN essentials, state board of nursing minimum standards, current evidence and best practiceParticipate in program and course revisionsParticipate in the evaluation and ongoing enhancement of the curriculaApply evidence from best education practices to teachingContribute to the mission and strategic priorities of the College of Nursing and the University of Tennessee KnoxvilleWork Location:  · Various clinical sites in the Knoxville, Tennessee area  · Clinical models may vary the days of the week each semesterQualifications:Required Qualifications: Earned Master’s degree in Nursing (MSN) at time of appointment.3+ years' of nursing practice experience.Licensure as a registered nurse in Tennessee prior to employmentEvidence of successful clinical and/or classroom teaching experienceEffective interpersonal skills and cultural competenceAbility to work with a diverse group of students and colleagues Desirable Qualifications:Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) or Doctor of Philosophy in Nursing (PhD)Eligibility for RN/APRN license in Tennessee Experience with instructional media and technologyApplication Instructions:To apply, please submit your application and materials through our Interfolio application system.
