Job description:

Excel Electric is hiring experienced industrial and commercial Top Helpers to work the Greenville, SC and surrounding areas. They must posses experience supporting Electricians in all aspects for work relating to complete electrical distribution systems in commercial and/or industrial environments. Must be customer service oriented and have a willingness to learn.

Responsibilities may include:

• Help organize work by receiving and studying work orders, gathering tools and supplies.
• Assist with installation of new electrical distribution systems, from service entry all of the way down to lights and receptacles and complete renovation of existing commercial spaces, from the demolition phase through to final inspection.
• Assisting with installation of new industrial equipment, including power and controls, per manufacturers' specifications and drawings.
• Helping diagnose electrical problems by studying diagrams, manuals, and specifications and can accurately identify colors of wires and conductors.
• Help maintain electrical systems by conducting system tests; completing preventive maintenance requirements.
• Maintain company provided equipment and tools.

Requirements:

• Understand and comply with Company and Job Safety requirements (OSHA), and Lock Out Tag out Procedures.
• Must be able and willing to wear personal protective equipment, such as hard hats, safety glasses, gloves, safety harness, hearing protection, when required.
• Own and maintain personal hand tools per company policy.
• Report to assigned job site location on time and as directed.
• Certified or willing to obtain certification upon hire to operate platform and boom lifts and to work at various heights, from ladders, scaffolds, aerial lifts, roofs, cat walks or other designated safe work areas.
• Able to quickly learn hand conduit bending to ensure timely installations.
• Able to use hand tools / equipment such as hammer drills, cable cutters, jack hammers, trenchers, shovels, etc.
• Understand verbal instructions and heed safety warnings.
• Reads and understands written instructions accurately, including tape measurements.
• Technical Understanding and Attention to Detail
• Customer service oriented
• Ability to life up to 50lbs, climb ladders, and physically capable of pulling wires and cables through conduit.

• 8 or 10 hour shifts
• Monday to Friday

License/Certification:

• Driver's License (Required)
• OSHA 10 or 30 (Preferred)
• Arc Flash Training (Preferred)
• Aerial lifts (Preferred)
