Job Summary
Berkshire Mechanical is seeking a skilled and dependable Commercial Electrician to join our growing team. This position is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems in commercial and industrial environments.
The ideal candidate has strong technical knowledge, excellent problem-solving abilities, and takes pride in delivering high-quality workmanship while maintaining professionalism and safety on every job site.
Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair commercial electrical systems and components
- Read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, technical drawings, and specifications
- Install and repair electrical wiring, conduit, panels, breakers, switches, outlets, lighting systems, and control systems
- Diagnose electrical issues and perform repairs in a timely and efficient manner
- Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits using testing devices such as voltmeters, ammeters, and ohmmeters
- Ensure all electrical work complies with local, state, and national electrical codes
- Perform preventative maintenance on electrical systems and equipment
- Install conduit, pull wire, terminate connections, and install electrical devices and fixtures
- Troubleshoot motor controls, low-voltage systems, and electrical equipment as needed
- Coordinate with project managers, supervisors, and other trades on job sites
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Ensure company vehicles, tools, and equipment are properly maintained and accounted for
- Communicate professionally with customers, contractors, and team members
- Follow all company safety procedures and OSHA regulations
- Represent the company professionally, honestly, and ethically at all times
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Commercial Electrician required
- Valid electrician license preferred based on state and local requirements
- Strong understanding of commercial electrical systems and NEC code requirements
- Ability to read and interpret electrical blueprints and schematics
- Experience with conduit bending, wire pulling, and electrical installations
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record preferred
- Ability to lift, carry, and move equipment and materials as needed
- Comfortable working in varying job site conditions
